5 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. system maintenance This system needs no specific maintenance beyond remote control battery replacement. The remote is po wered by a 1.5V AAA battery . The Battery Level indicator has four level indicators that serve as a visual indication of battery charge.

9 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. Icon The arm icon will flash while the system is arming. Icon The door icon will be displayed to indicate that a door is open when arming the system (Bypass N otification) or opened when the system is armed (T amper Alert).

12 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. Alarm P age If the alarm system is triggered while armed, an Alarm P age will be sent to the remote control. After r eceipt of an Alarm P age, the LCD icons will display the alarm system status information and the remote control will generate Alarm P age alerts.

The system is not actually armed at that point. The system arms and the doors lock (if connected and programmed for passive locking) at the 30 second mark, but the siren will not chirp .

19 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. disarming T o disarm the system, press . Y ou will hear two chirps, and the parking lights will flash twice. If the po wer locks are connected to the system, the doors will unlock. If the siren chirps either four or five times when disarming, refer to the Diagnostics section of this guide.
20 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. disarming without a transmitter This feature allo ws you to disarm the security system without the remote transmitter should it be lost, damaged, or disabled. I n order to disarm the system without a remote transmitter , you must have the vehicle ’ s ignition key and know where the V alet button is located.
21 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. silent mode T o temporarily turn off the arm or disarm chirps, use Silent M ode™. Simply press for less than one second befor e arming or disarming, and the confirmation chirp(s) will be elim- inated for that one operation only .
22 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. valet mode Y ou can prevent your security system from automatically arming and triggering by using V alet Mode. This is very useful when washing the vehicle or having it serviced.
23 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. nuisance prevention® circuitr y Y our system has Directed’ s N uisance Pr evention ® Circuitry (NPC ® ). I t prevents annoying r epetitive trigger sequences due to faulty door pin switches or environmental conditions such as thunder , jackhammers, airport noise, etc.

I t detects any faulty switches and sensors and prevents them fr om disabling the entire system.
25 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. disarming diagnostics Extra disarm chirps are the T amper Alert. If four chirps are hear d when disarming, the system was triggered in your absence. I f five chirps are hear d, a zone was triggered so many times that N uisance P revention ® Circuitry has bypassed that zone.
26 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. table of zones The zone number is the number of LED flashes used by the system to identify that input. The standard input assignments are listed belo w , along with spaces to write in any optional sensors or switches you have had installed.

This provides a cleaner spectrum with less interference and a more stable signal. Enjoy a phenomenal incr ease in range – even in areas with high radio interference.

32 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. ➤ F ull trigger response 3 3 0 0 or 60 seconds: This determines how long the full triggered sequence lasts. S ome states have laws regulating ho w long a security system can sound before it is considered a nuisance.
33 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. ➤ Sir en tones and chirp volume: The output of the Revenger ® Soft Chirp ® sir en consists of six different tones in sequence. Any of these tones can be eliminated by your dealer , result- ing in a unique, easily identifiable siren sound.

35 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. arming the vrs ® T o arm the VRS ® , turn the ignition to the ON position and press the arm button on the remote transmitter for one second. The parking lights will flash and the siren will chirp once. This can be done before driving or while driving the vehicle.
36 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. Fifteen seconds after the siren chirps begin, the siren ’ s output will change to a continuous blast. F rom this point on, when the ignition key is turned off , the VRS ® will immediately turn on the starter kill.
37 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. If the system has entered the trigger ed sequence (siren has begun chirping), pressing the disarm button of the transmitter will not disarm VRS ® . T o disarm the VRS ® during a VRS ® trigger sequence: 1. T urn the ignition on.
38 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. Input : A physical connection to the system. An input can be pro vided by a sensor , pinswitch or through an existing system in the vehicle, such as ignition or courtesy lights. LED : Blue light mounted somewhere in the v ehicle.
