This configuration mak es it possible to arm the system with one transmitter b utton, disarm it with another , and activate P anic Mode with a third.

5 © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc. When armed, your vehicle is protected as follows: • Light impacts will trigger the W ar n A wa y ® signal. When triggered, the siren will chir p and the parking lights will flash for a f ew seconds. • Heavy impacts will trigger the programmed triggered sequence .
6 © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc. High Security Disarm This system proudly off ers High Secur ity Disar m. High Secur ity Disarm is a f eature that mak es it possib le to silence and reset the system when it is trigger ing without disar ming the system.
7 © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc. Once a s witch has been selected, you ma y choose the number of pulses that must be applied to the wire to disarm the system, from 1-5. After programming is complete, the Ghost Switch will become a disarm switch f or both the security system and optional VRS.
8 © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc. V alet ® Mode Y ou can prev ent your system from automatically arming and tr iggering by using V alet ® Mode. This is very useful when washing the vehicle or ha ving it ser viced.

Disarming Diagnostics Extra disarm chir ps are the T amper Alert . If four chirps are heard when dis- arming, the system was tr iggered in your absence . If five chirps are heard, a zone w as triggered so many times that Nuisance Pre vention Circuitry™ has bypassed that z one.
11 © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc. C ode Hopping ™ Explained The receiver and tr ansmitters each use a mathematical formula called an algorithm to change their code each time the transmitter is used. This tech nology has been de v eloped to increase the security of the unit.

13 © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc. • P anic mode enabled /disabled with the ignition on: Some states ha ve la ws against siren capability in a moving v ehicle. • A utomatic Engine Disable (AED) on or off : The pur pose of the f eature is to protect the vehicle from being stolen at all times , regardless of whether or not the alar m is armed.

NOTE: As many states have laws regulating security systems, pr ogramming NPC off may allow your system to violate state laws. • Progressiv e door tr igger on or off: When the system is ar med and a door is opened, the system responds with ten chir ps prior to beginning the full triggered sequence.
15 © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc. • Stereo or sensor on/off : The system provides outputs that can be used to turn your stereo or a sensor on and off via the remote transmitter .
16 © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc. Arming The VRS ® T o ar m the VRS, push the VRS button once . This can be done before driving or while driving the vehicle . Once the system is ar med, it will go into its triggered sequence (see below) if an y door is opened and closed.
17 Disarming the V R S ® T ake the time to f amiliarize y ourself with the VRS triggering sequence and the disar m procedure . It is impor tant to recognize the VRS and kno w ho w to disarm it in case of accidental activ ation. Remember , neither the transmitter nor the V alet ® button will disar m the VRS ® f eature.

19 © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc. W arn Awa y ® Response Lighter impacts to the vehicle will generate the W ar n A wa y response. It consists of se ver al seconds of siren chir ps and par king light flashes. Zone A zone is a separate input that the alarm can recognize as unique.
