4- ENG A08184 WARNING: Risk of Bursting Air T ank: The following conditions could lead to a weakening of the tank, and result in a violent tank explosion and could cause property damage or serious injury .
5- ENG A08184 WARNING: Risk to Breathing WARNING: Risk of Electrical Shock HAZARD HAZARD Y our air compressor is powered by electricity . Like any other electrically powered device, If it is not used properly it may cause electric shock. Repairs attempted by unqualified personnel can result in serious injury or death by electrocution.
6- ENG A08184 WARNING: Risk of Burns T ouching exposed metal such as the compressor head or outlet tubes, can result in serious burns. Never touch any exposed metal parts on compressor during or immediately after operation. Compressor will remain hot for several minutes after operation.

8- ENG A08184 GLOSSAR Y DUTY CYCLE Accessories for this unit are available at the store the unit was purchased. ACCESSORIES Become familiar with these terms before operating the unit. CFM : Cubic feet per minute. SCFM: Standard cubic feet per minute; a unit of measure of air delivery .
9- ENG A08184 Assemble Wheels It will be necessary to brace or support one side of the outfit when installing the wheels because the compressor will have a tendency to tip. 1. Attach wheels with shoulder bolts and nuts as shown. 2. Tighten securely . NOTE : The outfit will sit level if the wheels are properly installed.
10- ENG A08184 INST ALLA TION GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK. In the event of a short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current.
11- ENG A08184 Extension Cords Use extra air hose instead of an extension cord to avoid voltage drop and power loss to the motor , and to prevent overheating.
12- ENG A08184 Description of Operation Become familiar with these controls before operating the unit. On/Auto/Off Switch : T ur n this switch "ON/AUTO" to provide automatic power to the pressur e switch and "OFF" to remove power at the end of each use.
Before Starting Break-in instructions Serious damage may result if the following break-in instructions are not closely followed. This procedur e is required before the air compressor is put into service and when the check valve or a complete compressor pump has been replaced.
14- ENG A08184 How to Start: 1. T urn the On/Auto/Off lever to "ON/AUTO" and allow tank pressur e to build. Motor will stop when tank pressur e reaches "cut-out" pressur e. 2. T urn regulator knob clockwise to increase pressure and stop when desired pressur e is reached.
15- ENG A08184 NOTE: See "Operation" section for the location of controls. T o ensure efficient operation and longer life of the air compressor outfit, a routine maintenance schedule should be prepared and followed.
16- ENG A08184 Air Compressor Pump Intake and Exhaust V alves Once a year have a T rained Service T echnician check the air compressor pump intake and exhaust valves. If it is dirty , replace it with a new filter . On some models,the filter may be removed by using a pair of needle nose pliers or a screwdriver .
17- ENG A08184 8. Apply sealant to the check valve threads. Reinstall the check valve (tur n clockwise). 9. Replace the pressur e release tube. Tighten nuts. 10. Replace the outlet tube and tighten nuts. 11. Perform the Break-in Procedure. See "Break-in Procedure" in the Operation section.
18- ENG A08184 STORAGE Before you store the air compressor , make sure you do the following: 1. Review the "Maintenance" section on the preceding pages and perform scheduled maintenance as necessary . 2. Set the On/Auto/Off lever to "OFF".
19- ENG A08184 TROUBLESHOOTING Performing repairs may expose voltage sources, moving parts or compressed air sources, moving parts or compressed air sources. Personal injury may occur . Prior to attempting any repairs, unplug the air compressor and bleed off all air tank air pressur e.
20- ENG A08184 PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION It is normal for "some" pressur e drop to occur . If there is an excessive amount of pressur e drop when the accessory is used, adjust the regulator following the instructions in the "Description of Operation" paragraph in the "Operation Section.
21- ENG A08184 Regulator will not shut off air outlet. Damaged regulator Replace PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION Motor will not run. Fuse blown, circuit breaker tripped.
