9 3 INST ALLA TION • After removing the packaging, make sure the product is complete and undamaged. If in doubt, do not use the appliance and contact a qualified professional. • Packing elements (plastic bags, polystyrene etc) must not be left within reach of children as they may represent a hazard.
10 Move the cappuccino frother outwards (fig. 2) and place a cup underneath it. Tu rn the steam knob counterclockwise as far as it will go (fig. 3). After a few seconds, a little water runs out of the cappuccino frother . When the cup contains about 1 oz of water , turn the steam knob clockwise (fig.
11 NOTE 1: If the coffee is delivered a drop at a time or not at all, turn the grinding coarseness regulator (fig. 15) one click clockwise (see chapter 7). 12 NOTE 8: While the appliance is delivering coffee, never remove the water tank. If it is removed, the appliance will not be able to make the coffee. To reset the appliance, turn the steam knob counterclockwise as far as it will go and run of f water from the cappuccino frother for a few seconds.
13 8 PREP ARING ESPRESSO/COFFEE USING GROUND COFFEE (INSTEAD OF BEANS) •P ress the button (fig. 16) to select the ground coffee function. This disables the cof fee mill function. 20 ADD PRE-GROUND COFFEE •W ith the ground coffee function selec- ted, ground coffee has not been poured into the funnel. • Add the ground coffee as described in chapter 8. FILL BEANs CONTAINER • The coffee beans have run out. • If the coffee grinder is ver y noisy , this means a small stone in the coffee beans has blocked the mill.
21 15 PROBLEMS THA T CAN BE RESOL VED BEFORE CALLING THE SERVICE CENTER If the appliance is not working, the causes of the malfunction can be identified and resolved by referring to chapter 14. If, on the other hand, no message is displayed, run the following checks before calling the ser- vice center .
22 PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION The coffee does not run out from the spouts, but from around the ser vice door . • The holes in the spouts are clogged with dr y coffee. • The mobile container inside the ser vice door is blocked and cannot swing. • Scrape the holes with a needle (see chapter 11.
