1. Read all instructions carefully . 2. Watch out for the release of steam, and never open the filter basket door during the brewing cycle. 3. Always lift the filter holder by the handle. 4. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use the handle on the carafe. 5. Never touch the warming plate.

Use the lid on the carafe while brewing and pouring coffee. 24. Discard caraf e if damaged in any manner, or a car afe ha ving a loose or weakened handle.
Place the box on a large, sturdy flat surface. Carefully unpack your coffee maker and remove all packaging material and literature. Remove any labels or stickers from the coffee mak er . T o remove any dust that ma y have accumulated during pac kaging, you ma y wipe the unit with a clean, damp cloth.

UNDERST ANDING THE CONTR OLS 1. CLOCK / TIMER DIGIT AL DISPLA Y : Cloc k with AM/PM indicator . It displays the clock and timer settings. See “Setting the Clock” section of this manual for programming the time. 2. ON/TIMER LIGHT: - When illuminated “RED” it indicates that the coffee maker is in the brewing stage.
SETTING THE CLOCK 1. The number on the digital display will flash until the time is set. 2. T o set the correct time of day first press the “PROG” button, and then press the “HOUR / MIN” button until the desired hour is reached.
FILLING THE W A TER T ANK: 5. Open the hinged lid of the water tank, located on top of the coff ee maker . 6. Fill the tank with the desired amount of cold water . The water lev el must be between the top and bottom cup marks. NOTE: Do not fill above the MAX level.
10. Swing the filter door closed until it snaps into place. W ARNING: Do not operate your coff ee maker if the door does not close completely . If the door does not close completely , check to see that the filter basket is properly positioned inside the filter holder .
15. DC87T Series: The non-stick wa r ming plate ensures that the coff ee maintains the correct temperature after brewing is complete. Once brewing is complete, the coffee maker will remain on for 2 hours and then automatically shut itself off.
-15- HINTS FOR GREA T T ASTING COFFEE 1. A clean coffee maker is essential for making great tasting coffee. Regular cleaning is recommended, as specified in the “Cleaning Y our Coffee Maker” section of this manual. 2. Always use fresh, cold w ater in your coff ee maker .
DECALCIFICA TION HO W T O DECALCIFY Y OUR COFFEE MAKER 1. T o decalcify , fill the caraf e with cold water and two tab lespoons of white vinegar. 2. P our the solution into the water tank, and then close the lid. Place the caraf e on the non-stick plate and allow the coffee maker to brew the vinegar solution.
1. W ARNING: Make sure your coff ee maker is unplugged before attempting to clean. T o protect against electr ic shock, do not immerse cord, plug or unit in water or other liquid. 2. The outside of your coffee maker can be cleaned by wiping the surface with a damp , soft cloth.
