Rep lacing ink c artr idge s Make sur e you ha ve a new i nk cartridg e o r cartrid ges befo re you begin. Y ou must i nstall new cartri dges immediat ely after removing the old ones, or the ink remaining in the prin thead nozzl e s may dry out. Removing in k cartridges 1 Turn o n your pri nt er.
If your ink cart ridge comes w ith a twis t cap, then remo ve the cap. 2 Insert each ink car tridge. Slide your finger along the ink cartridge until th e cartridge cl icks into plac e. Note s: • Inser t the c ol or cart ri dges fi rst , and then the bla ck c artrid ge.

Using the printer control pan el buttons and menus Replacing the langu age sheet A lang uage sheet is used t o label but tons on the pri nter c ontrol pane l. Langua ge she ets can be replac ed anytime, depend ing on whic h lan guage you w ant to use.
6 Insert the preferred language sheet into the langu age sheet holder, and then attach the language sheet ho ld er to the pr inter c ontro l panel . 7 Raise th e printer cont rol panel until it clic ks into place. 8 Close the printer , and then f ully extend the p aper exit tray.

Loading paper an d original documents Lo adin g paper 1 Flex the sheets back and forth to loosen them. Do not fold or crease the paper. Straighten the edges o f the stack on a level surface. 2 Open the paper feed gu ar d. 3 Place the paper at the center of the paper s uppor t.

Printing on labels Notes: • Make sure the top of the label sheet f eed s into th e printer first. • Make sure the adhesive on the labels does not extend to within 1 mm of the edge of the lab el sheet. • Make sure the paper guide or paper guid es rest against the edges of the label sheet.

E-mailing Before you can send an e -mail, you m ust first configu re the net work connec tion and e-mail s ettings of your pr inter. If the addi tional dev ice (te lephon e or answerin g machi ne) has an RJ-11 connector , then you can remove t he wrap plug and co nnect the devic e to the port of the p rinter.

Connec t the printer to any of the N po rts. To con n ect: 1 Connec t one end of a telephone cabl e to th e port o f the print er. 2 Connect the other en d of the cable t o the RJ ‑ 11 adap ter, and then connect the ad apter to an N po rt.

Dialing and Sending • Set your fax name and fax number. • Adjust the dialing volum e. • Set the di al me thod, redial ti me, number of redial attempts, dialin g pr efi x, and fax sending speed.

Tips for send ing f axes • Make s ure th e printer is o n and connec ted to a w orking tel e phone , DSL, or VoIP line. Th e line is working if you hear a dial t one. • Make su re the paper exit t ray is fully e xtended and the tray ext ension is f lipped out.
