18 Using Y our Projector 1 LAMP warning light • If the LAMP light is solid amber , replace the lamp (see Changing the Lamp on page 35 ). If this problem p ersists, contact Dell (see Contacting Dell on page 40 ). • If the LAMP light is blinking amber , the projector automatic ally shut s down indi cating a system failure.

Using Y our Projector 21 Using the On-Screen Display The projector has a multi-language On -Screen Display (OSD) that can be displayed with or without a n input source pr esent. In the Main menu, press or to navigate through the tabs. Pr ess the Enter button on the control panel or the remote control to select a submenu.
22 Using Y our Projector C OMPOSITE V IDEO — P ress Enter to detect Composite V ideo signal. HDMI— Pr ess Enter to detect HDMI signal. Auto-Adjust Auto Adjust automatically adjusts the projector's display se ttings. While auto adjustment is in progress, the following message appears on the screen: Auto Adjustmen t in Progress.
Using Y our Projector 23 PICTURE (in PC Mode) B RIGHTNESS — Use or to adjust the brightness of the image. C ONTRAST — Use or to control the degr ee of difference between the brightest and darkest pa rts of the picture. Adjusting the contrast changes the amount of black and white in th e image.
24 Using Y our Projector S ATURATION — Allows you to adjust a video source from black and white to fully saturated color . P ress to decrease the amount of color in the image and to increase the amount of color in the image. S HARPNESS — Al lows you to adjust the image sharpness.
Using Y our Projector 25 V ERTICAL P OSITION — P ress to move the image down and to move the ima ge up. F REQUENCY — Allows you to change the display data clock frequ ency to match the frequency of your computer graphics ca rd. If you see a vertical flick ering bar , use Fr e qu en cy control to minimize the bars.
26 Using Y our Projector LAMP Using the Lamp menu, you can adjust the display settings of your projectors. The Pictur e menu, provides the following options: L AMP H OUR — Displays the operating hours since the last lamp timer reset. P OWER S AVING — Select Ye s to set the P ower Saving delay period.
Using Y our Projector 27 LANGUAGE OTHERS V OLUME — Pr ess to decrease the vo lume and to increase the volume. M UTE — Allows you to enable/disable sound. A UDIO S OURCE — Allows you to select the audio source to either HDMI or Analog (Audio In) .
28 Using Y our Projector screen r eplaces all the original screens with the Dell logo . Y ou can recover the default screen by selectin g Dell L ogo on the pop-up screen. NOTE: T o capture a full image, ensure th e input signal that is connected to projector is 1280x800 resolution.

Glossary 41 Appendix: Glossary ANSI Lumens — A standar d for measuring ligh t output, u sed for comparing projectors. A standard for measuring the brig htness. It is calculated by dividing a square meter image i nto nine equal r ect angles, measuring the lux (or brightness) reading at the center of each rectangle, and averaging these nine points.

Diagonal Screen— A method of measuring the size of a scr een or a projected image.
Glossary 43 Reverse Image— F eature that allows you to flip the image horizontally . When used in a normal forwar d projection environment text, graphics, etc, ar e backwards.
