Troubleshoo ting 23 Power Problems If the power light is off — The computer is either turned off o r is not receiving power . • Reseat the power cable into both the power connector on the comput er and the electrical outlet. • Ensure that the electrical outlet is working by testing it with another device, such as a lamp.
Troubleshooting 24 Memor y Problems If you receive an insufficient memory message — • Save and close any open files and exit any open programs you ar e not using to see if that resolves the prob lem. • See the soft ware document ation for mi nimum memory requirements.

28 INSPIRON Restoring Y our Operating System Y ou ca n restore your opera ting system in the f ollowing ways: • System Re store can restor e your computer to an earlier state without affecting data files. Use System Restore as the first solution for restoring your operating system and preser ving data files.
Restoring Y our Operatin g System 29 Starting System Restore 1. Click Start . 2. In the Start Search box, type System Restore and press <Enter>. 3. Click Next and follow the remaining prompts on the scr een. If System Restore do es not resolve your problem, you can undo the last system restore.
