11 CONNECTIONS Connecting to a TV M onitor NOTE: While connecting please ensure that the VD R 3000 and all devi ces that you are connecting to are switched off. The VDR 3000 should be connected to the v i deo and audio i nputs of a TV M onitor . The TV Monitor may have a SC ART socket, PHONO (RC A) sockets or S-Vi deo socket.

17 OPERA TION Sw itching on Once all cables ar e in place it is ok to power on the VDR-3000. Press the Pow er Butt on on the front o f the VDR 3000 or on t he r emote contr ol hands et, the display panel should li ght up and displ ay ” - - - -“ .

19 2 The VDR 3000 will take a few moments to prepare th e disk for reco rding. If CD DVD , DVD- PHOTO, HQ-VCD , VCD or SVC D has been selected then once prepar ed the VDR 3000 start up screen w ill disappear and t he syste m will be ready to start recording .
20 After set up t he audi o/v ideo input and out put. Start the so urce mach ine play ing, i n the case of a video source the p icture w ill appear on th e TV screen. Fi nd the foot age th at you w ant to record to the disc and press the R ec. Button.
21 4 Play ing CD’s in y our PC : 1. T he PC auto pl ayer i s a MPEG-2 decoder , whic h requi res a larg e amount of PC resources. It is r ecommended that you cl ose all running applicati ons before inserting the autoplay di sk. 2. Insert your disk into y our CD- ROM dr ive.
22 Play er Control Grabbing Fr ames fr om your CD to sav e or e-mail 1. Make sure the auto player i s running . 2. On the player control w indow there is a Frame Grab Icon (pi cture of a camera). 3. Once you have decided on a specific frame press the Fr ame Grab icon immediately .

26 Q9. Why do some recorded CD-R /W discs have mosaic v i deo or overlay v ideo effect af ter a few erase and re-w rite cy cles? It’s becaus e the eras e oper ation w as not c ompl eted; you may d ouble erase t he disc in VDR- 3000 to resolv e the problem.
27 Q15. Is there a wa y to get Window s Media Play er or any other editing program to recognize the "avseq01.dat" file created by the VDR-3000? The file name and extension of the raw mpeg file can be r enamed to a "*.mpg" ex tension.
