Routing Dlink DRO-210i User Guide 23 4 Routing Routing determines how to transport packets from the initiating host to the receiving host. The packet needs to determine a path through which it can travel from the sender to the receiver. The Routing Table in a router provid es such a map to all packets.
Routing Dlink DRO-210i User Guide 24 4.1 Static Rout ing When Static Routing is selected as the routing al gorithm, the network administrator needs to manually configure all routes on the router. A ny chan ge in the networ k config u ration would require the administrator to update the infor mation in all affected routers.
Routing Dlink DRO-210i User Guide 25 other network configuration problems like routing loop. In the Internet, there are two types of dynamic routing algorithms used – Distance vector and Link State algorithm.
