2 Cyc lades PM IPDU In staller/Administrator/User Guide Support for daisy chaining The IPDU has a fixed number of power outlet receptacles, but with daisy chaining capabilities, users may increase capacity by co nnecting the contro l interfaces of several Cyclades PM IPDUs in a series.

Chapter 2: In stallation 17 • If you are moun ting the PM IPDU, obtain a Phillips screwdriver and app ropriate nuts and bolts before starting the following procedu re. NOTE: When mounting a Cyclades PM IPDU zero U model to a wall stud, securely mount it by using a #10 or larger screw or use a drywall fastener rated min.
18 Cyclades PM IPDU Installer/Administrator/User Guide NOTE: Install a Cyclades PM IPDU zero U m odel in a location whe re there is an adjacent and accessible wall socket outlet. T o mount the Cy clades PM8i IPD U, PM10 IPD U or PM10i IP DU: 1. Locate the approp riate sets of holes on the PM IPDU.
Chapter 2: In stallation 19 NOTE: The suggested minimum screw size for wall-mounting the Cyclades PM IPDUs is #10 (4.8 mm or 0.19 in or 3/16 in) or larger . The RJ-45 c able included in the Cyclades PM IPDU package is minimum flame rat ed VW-1 or FT -1 and has a maximum length of 10 feet (3 meters).

23 Configuration The Cycl ades PM IPDU m ay be confi gured by any one of three meth ods: • Command Prompt - Full confi gur ation capabilities. • Browser - A vailable only when the PM IPDU is conne.

Chapt er 3: Confi g uration 27 After the upgrad e command is executed, the boot loader men u is displayed at the console, as show n belo w: 3. At the boot loader menu, select option 1 to upgrade the firmwar e. The boot load er erases the firmware currently in the unit and asks you to upload the new firmware, as shown below: 4.

31 Command Line Interf ace When using the Cyclades PM IPDU ind ependen tly of other C yclades products, users and administrators may access the PM IPDU command line interf ace through a terminal emulation program b y making a cons ole connection fr om a local comp uter to the IN port on the PM IPDU.
