Secure the upp er handle and lower handl e with the two wing 4. nuts an d carria ge bol ts rem oved earlier. Tighten the t wo wing nut s already i nstall ed in the up per ho les to f irml y secure th e uppe r handle an d suppo r t tubes . See Figure 3 - 2.
Place chute assembl y onto chute base as show n in Figure 3-5. Make sure that the chute notches e ngage w ith the spir al end of chute direc tio nal control, and th e t wo f lange kee per s are bene ath the f lange o n the chute bas e. Secure f l ange keep er rem oved earlier w ith lock nu ts and sc rews.

If adjus ting the auge r cabl e, thread the lo ck nut down to 4 . length en the c able as ne cessar y to s top the auge r from turning w hen the contro l is release d.

T wo- W ay Chut e Control™ The t wo -w ay chute control is loc ated on the l ef t side o f the dash pane l and is used to contro l the dist ance of snow dischar ge from the chute. T o chang e the upp er chute angle to contro l the dist ance • that snow is thrown, pi vot the lever for w ard or back w ard.
Starting The Engine Atta ch spark plu g wire to spark p lug. Make cer t ain the 1 . met al loop o n the end o f the spark p lug wire (inside t he rubb er bo ot) is fastene d se curely over the m etal tip o n the spark plu g. Make cer tain b oth the auge r control and dri ve control are 2.
Operating Tips NOTE : Allow the en gine to warm up f or a few minutes . The engine w ill not develo p full p ower until it reaches o peratin g temperature. W ARNI NG! T he temp erature of th e muf f le r and the surroun ding areas may excee d 1 50 ° F .
With the m ounting ho les toward the b ack , slide th e new 4. shave plate into position and s ecure wi th the fas tener s removed prev iously. Lubric ation Gear Shaft The g ear (hex) s haf t shoul d be lubri cated at leas t once a seas on or af ter ever y t went y -f ive (25) hours of op eration .

Belt Replac ement Belt Remo val Preparat ion Disconnect the chute crank assembly at the discharge 1 . chute end by remo ving the hairpin clip and the flat washer . Re fer to Figure 7 - 1 . Remove the h ex s crews and lo ck nuts securing the for ward 2.
Slip the auger con trol belt (the front belt) off the en gine 2. pulley . Pull the 3. brake bracket assembly t owards the cable guide roller and unhook the auger cable “Z” f it ting. Ref er to Figure 7 -5. F rom both sides of the frame assembly , use a 1 /2" wrench 4.
If also replacing the drive belt, proceed to the “ Drive Belt ” 1 1 . instruction . If not, reposition the transmission frame back onto the auger housing. In stall the drive belt on the engine pulley , re - connec t the auger cable “Z” f itting and auger idler ro d ferrule to the brake bracket.
Slide the bearing onto the left e nd of the hex shaf t and 1 4. press int o the hole on the lef t side the frame. Plac e the belleville washer (rounded side to ward head) 1 5. onto the hex screw remov ed earlier , and insert the screw int o the threaded hole of the he x shaf t.
