4 SECTION I. FRONT HITCH COMPONENTS Before beginning installat ion of the Front Hitch System, remove all parts f rom the shipping container. Refer to Figu res 1 and 2 to conf irm that all parts are present and to familiarize yourself with the part descriptions.

6 SECTION II. TRACTOR PREPARATION This section contains ins t ructions for pre paring the tractor for in stallation of the Front Hit ch System. WARNING Place the tractor on a firm and level surface, disengage the PTO, and turn the ignitio n switch to the OFF position .

Fr om ben ea th th e r igh t r un ning bo ar d, re move the hex wash. hd. tapp screw s and remove in the following order: the reverse control pedal, forwar d control ped al, and the br ake pedal (See Figure 6) . NOTE: The fol lowing step 2 applies only to tractors equipped with the Diff - Lock feature.
8 WARNING Use care when handling the fender and running board assembly. The edge s could cause cuts to the skin. 9. With the help of an assista nt, lift the front of the running board off the frame brackets , then raise the rear f ender over the neck o f the fuel tank and the lift hand le to remove the fender a ssembly.
9 SECTION III. INSTALLATION This section contains inst ructions for installing the Front Hitch System on the tract or. If the optional Hydraulic Angli ng Kit (190-288-100) is also being installed, refer to the installation instructions in its Operator’s Ma nual as you complete each of the following step s.
10 NOTE Tractors built prior to Mf g. Code 1H018G have the standar d cente r lift hy drau lic line s rout ed to the outside of the frame. The standard lines should be moved to the inside of the fram e to provide space for r outing the front hitch hydraulic lines .
11 f. I f not already installed, install a ba ckup O-ring (P) between the existing O-ri ng and the f lange of the fron t hydraulic tub e. g. With the outlet port s facing inward, alig n the valve assembly with the fr ont hydraulic tube and the slo t ot the lift link, then slide the valve into position in the tractor.
12 9. Align th e front port of the hydraulic valve (1 9) with the valve adapter (20) and the notch of the valve spool with the slot of the li ft link (17); then slide the hydraulic valve into posi tion behind the installed valve (See Figure 22). Hold the valve in position.

Inse rt the hydro retur n hose into the rear port of the n ew valve a nd secu re with t he previously removed va lve clamp and hex screw.
14 3. Remove t he hex nuts from both the ma le and female hydraulic couplin g assemblies (6 and 7) and install as follows (Refer to Figur e 29): a. From the front of t he fitting bulkhead, insert the male coupling assembly (6) into the top inside hole of the bu lkhead.
15 C. INSTALL THE FRONT HITCH COMPONENTS. WARNING If the tracto r has been r ecently operat ed, the muffler, exhaust pip e, and surrounding areas will be HOT.

Pivot the top of th e mounting pla te upward and align the upper two hole s on each side of the plate with those of t he frame.
17 D. INSTALL THE LIFT CYLINDER AND HOSES. NOTE The lift cylinde r, elbows, hydraulic hoses, an d coupler fitting s were preassembled at the factory to en sure proper sealing of the connections and p osition of the hoses (a ngled slighly upward). Refer to the assembly drawing in Figure 1 (Page 4) to verify proper assembly.
18 Figure 41 7. Compress the locking co llar on the fema le fittings and attach the hoses to t heir respective coupling assemblies (See Figure 41). NOTE: the 45° fittings on the hoses should angle outward and upward to properly position t he hoses.
19 SECTION IV. TRACTOR REASSEMBLY A. REPOSITION FUEL TANK AND HITC H PLATE. 1. Slide th e fuel tank fully forward in the fr am e slots. 2. If used, remove any plug or covering from the dipstick hole of the transmission housing. 3. While guid ing the dipstick tube into th e transmission opening, pivot the hitch plate up into position on the frame .
20 C. REINSTALL THE SEAT ASSEMBLY. 1. Lay th e seat assembly on its side on to p of the fender and plug the wire har ness connector ont o the seat switch. Refer to Figur e 5. 2. Carefully position th e seat assembly on the fender. Align the rear slide channe l holes and fender holes with the mounting h oles of the frame.
21 E. CHECK OP E RATION. If all previous installation procedures w ere correctly performed, the front hitch should raise when t he lift handle is pulled upward (rea rward) and lower when pushed downward (forward) . If the opposite actions occur, switching the hose connec tions at the cylinder will correct the problem.
22 5. Reinst all the wingnut knobs to prot ect the threads of mounting plate stu ds. 6. The mou nting plate can remain installed on the tractor. B. MAINTENANCE. Whenever th e pivot pins ar e removed or o nce a year apply a light coating of high grade lubricating o il to the pins.
