To A djust Mi ter Angles: 1. Unlock the miter table by turning the miter handle (1) counterclockwise. 2. W hile hol ding the positive-stop locking lever (2) down, grasp t he miter handle and rotate the miter table left or right to t he desired angle. 3.

PLA N YOUR W ORK Use the r ight tool. Don’t f orce a t ool or attac hment to do a job it was not des igned to do. Use a different tool f or any workpiece that can’t be held in a solidly braced, f ixed pos ition.
TURNING THE SA W ON (Fig. Q) T o reduc e the lik elihood of acc idental start ing, a thumb activ ated lock -OFF switc h is locat ed on top of the switch handle. The safet y lock-OFF but ton (1) must be pushed for ward before t he trigger switch ( 2) can be activ ated and the mit er saw star ted.
MITER CUT (FIG . R) W hen a miter c ut is required, unloc k the m iter table by turning the m iter handle (1) c ounterclock wise. W hile holding the miter handle, press down on the positive stop lock ing lever (2) . Rotate the miter table to the right or left with the miter handle.
WORKP IECE S UPPO RT (FIG . V) Long pieces need ext ra suppor t. The support s hould be placed under t he workpiece. Keep your hands out of t he “no-hands” zone, posit ioned 7-1/4” or more away from t he blade. The suppor t must let t he workpiece lay flat on t he worktable during t he cut ting operation.
