25 Home Page Once switched on, the System shows main user interface, the H OME P AGE ; from here you can place a Call , modify system Settings , and control system status by mean s of Status Ba r . In configuration menus, these icons will always appear: Back to previous page Back to H OME P AGE .
26 How to make a call Once the Syste m is on, the m ain user interface will display the H OME P AGE . A call can be made in three different ways: From the Phonebook – see § “How to make a call from Phonebook”. Audio/Video – see § “A udio-video cal ls”.
27 How to make a call from Phonebook To enable the quick select io n of a number t o call, a phonebook is available to store data about terminal s that are frequently called. To ca l l one of these nu mbers, user s need only sele ct t he entry in a li st.
28 Audio-video calls From the H OME P AGE , selec t th e VIDEO icon. The sa me function can be achiev ed by pressing the CALL key on the remote control.
29 To Reselect an Incoming or Outgoing Call Incoming calls are indi cated wit h a green arrow while outgoi ng ones are indic ated with a red one. A cyclic buffer of 60 numbers is available to store calls. To reselect a call ed number press the CALL r emo te control key twice.
30 Audio call If you would like to make an audio -only call (us ing the System like a normal telephone ), sel ect th e AUDIO icon from the H OME P AGE . To complete th e audio call, fol low these step s: 1) Select the t ype of call (ISDN, IP-H323, IP-SIP, NIC) from the drop-down menu.
31 Dual Video Mode (option) Dual Video Connection You can create a Dua l Video connection to send two video strea ms originating from different sources. ! This is feasible on t he condition tha t the remote termi nal supports D ual Video. Dual Video transmissi ons can be ini tiated by either t he Audio-Video calli ng or called terminal.
32 Dual Video Disconnection To disconnect Dual Vi deo only: 1) Press the Dual key on the remote control. 2) Move to the icon Yes and press OK . Note To disconnect t he whole Videoconf erence press the Di sconnect ke y on the remote control.
33 Phonebook System allows use of ei ther a “ local” phonebook or a phone book on a “ remo te server” (LDAP H.350 pro tocol) . You can se lect desired ph onebook by means of drop-down menu: Lo.
34 Modifying and Erasi ng Phonebook Entries To modify a phonebook entry: 1. Select the desired entry and press OK 2. Move to the Modify icon and press OK again 3. Enter modificat ions and s ave them To erase an entry in the p honebook: 1. Select the desired entry and press OK .
35 Video Input Management It is possible to manage different video inputs by se lecting them us ing the remote control keys Came ra . The functi on keys Red – Yellow - Camera , can be configured to be associated wit h any available video inpu t.
36 Video Privacy In connection To activate the Video Privacy function, pre ss the PRIVACY key on the remote control. Lo cal video wil l no longer be tr ans mitted. The icon will appear in th e video window in dicating that the rem ote te rminal is no longer r eceiv ing v ideo fr om local ter minal.
37 System Configuration - Settings This section d escribes the procedures to properly co nfigure the Sy stem. Note that som e conf igura t ion param eters can be modi fied only wh en no connection is active. User preferences From the H OME PAGE selec t: S ETTINGS / U SER S ETTINGS .

ID code (1-9 9 ) : In order to co ntrol mo re systems wi th o nly one remote cont rol , you can assi gn to ea ch syste m a numeric code (01 to 99), a nd then co nsequently s et the remo te control.
40 Call-Answer mode General This menu contains the follo wing config uration sett ings: Mute : selected, at the start-up and afte r each disconnection syst em will not transmit a udio, an icon will be displaye d in the loca l and remote terminals.
41 H.320 This menu contains the follo wing config uration sett ings: Audio Number = Video Number : In a non-aggre gated ISDN call, t he audio number may be differe nt from the vid eo number. I f this checkbox is not selected, the System will reques t the video number and o ffer by default the same number as the o ne used by audio.
42 Display Status Bar and Transparency • ENABLE STAT US BAR : Allows you to personaliz e the Syste m graphical interface, c hoosing wheth er you want the status bar to b e present an d, if so , what infor mation shou ld be displayed on it. Status bar information : Date & Time , Selected camera , Channel status , Charges , and Da ta ch annel .

62 H323 Settings This section conta ins the configura tion options n ecessary to use t he system wi th the H.323 protocol: • Name H.323 : (H.323 ID) the name used by the terminal for registration with the gatekeep er.
63 Services ( Web-Telnet, SNMP, Streaming ) The System allows for the configura tio n of various para meter s associated with web management, SNM P managemen t and stre ami ng managemen t . 65 Rate . T his drop-down menu allows you to choose the ba ndwidth occupied by audio and video streaming. Note that if a rate of 64K has been selected, the video will not be tran smitted, because all th e bandwidth will be occupied by audio. Address .
66 Viewing methods Viewing with a plu g-in The integrated W eb Server pr ovides the si m plest method. Connect to th e System via th e Web and from the server homepage click on the image that lo oks lik e video—t his will g iv e you acces s to the page pro duced by streaming.
67 PPPoE (Point-to-P oint Prot ocol over Ethernet) PPPoE is used t o allow Interne t Servi ce Provid ers (ISPs) to use the ir existing Rad ius ( ∗ ) authenticat ion systems from dialup servic es on broadband /Ethernet-based services. Automatic IP a ddress : If selected, an a utomati c IP address will be assigned.
68 ISDN network interface (option) In this section you can: Activate/d eactivate: • CLIR (Call ing Line Identity Re stri ction): if enabl ed, system wi ll not transmit its number when establis hi ng a call. • COLR (Connected Line Iden tity Restriction): if enabled, system will not transmit its number while rec eiving a c all.
69 Access Configuration – ISDN BRI Euro Select the icon with the numb er of the acces s to configure and press OK . From this menu, you ca n: Choos e to Enable Acce sses . Spec ify the Numb er to be associat ed with the access. Spec ify the Subaddress , if present.
70 Access configuration – ISDN PRI Euro This interface can be used by mea ns of the “ XLNA” external module (see “X LINE NETWORK AD APTER” §). A) Mov e to the des ired access configuration (ic on 1 ) and press OK . In this page you can: Choos e to Enable Acce sses .

98 Appendices IP Network Requirements for Videocommunication The network requirements fo r point-point connections be tween I P videoconferencing terminals are as follow s. The comple te network pa th connect ing two IP term inals must have a con stant available band widt h for the whole duration o f the connec tion.
99 Going around the firewall or NA T device is not the best so lution for most compan ies. Removing the firewall or pl acing videoconferencing equ i pment on an unsh ielded section of the network could serio usly compromi se the network’s securi ty.
100 If the Firewall receives a packet destined fo r a computer that is located internally and determine s that th e de stinatio n comput er has not in itiated any communi cation, t h e firewall discards the incoming packet.
