When the r emote receiv es an Alarm P age, the LCD icons will display the alarm system status informa- tion and the remote contr ol will generate beeps and-or vibration.

19 © 2006 directed electronics passive arming The system can be programmed to arm itself automatically (called passive arming). If the system is pr ogrammed for passive arming, it will automatically arm 30 seconds after the ignition is turned off and the system detects that you have left the v ehicle by opening and closing a door .

I n or der to disarm the system without a remote transmitter , you must have the vehicle ’ s ignition key and know wher e the V alet button is located.

26 © 2006 directed electronics valet mode Y ou can prev ent your security system from automatically arming and triggering by using V alet M ode. This is very useful when washing the vehicle or having it serviced.
27 © 2006 directed electronics one-time bypass This feature (if pr ogrammed on) stops the alarm from arming or activating any outputs that ar e programmed to activate when the alarm is armed. One-time bypass will defeat the follo wing actions: P assive arming: If programmed ON the alarm will not arm itself .
28 © 2006 directed electronics faulty door pin switches or environmental conditions such as thunder , jackhammers, airpor t noise, etc. Example If the alarm triggers thr ee times within a 60-minute period and each time the same sensor or switch triggers the alarm, NPC ® will interpret those triggers as false alarms.

31 © 2006 directed electronics Adjusting the Shock Sensor Setting 1. Increase S ensitivity—P ress and release the button to increase shock sensor sensitivity b y one step. The siren and remote will emit 2 chirps for each step incr eased in adjust- ment (and/or 1 vibrate if programmed).

I t detects any faulty switches and sensors and prev ents them from disabling the entire system.

If five chirps are hear d, a zone was trigger ed so many times that N uisance P revention ® Circuitry has bypassed that zone (see NPC section of this guide).

This delay is intended to allow y ou time to distance y ourself from your vehicle in the event of a carjacking.
