16 Classé has gone to extraordinary effort to ensure that the single-ended (R CA) outputs of your integrated amplifier are as good as possible. If you need to use these preamplifier-lev el outputs, connect these single- ended outputs to an amplifier using high-quality shielded R CA-terminated cables.
17 e pin assignments of the XLR input connectors are: Pin 1: S ignal ground Pin 2: S ignal + (non-inverting) Pin3:S ignal–(inverting) Connector ground lug: chassis ground ese pin assignments are consistent with the standar d adopted by the Audio E ngineering Society (AES14-1992).
18 8 Classé CAN-Bus Control Ports ese RJ-45 connectors are reserved for future control and communication applicationsusingClasséAudio ’ simplementationoftheControllerArea N etwork(CAN)Busspecication.
19 12 AC Mains Fuse An AC mains fuse holder is located next to the A C mains input. It is unlikely that you should ever have to r eplace this fuse, but if you do, it is critical that you do so only with a fuse of exactly the same rating and value (specified in T roubleshooting #8) .
20 The Remote Control Y our new integrated amplifier comes with a versatile remote control which can control both the CAP-2100 itself and several aspects of the rest of a Classé-based system. e buttons are arranged in logical groups accor ding to their functions.
21 3 Input Selection ese Up and Do wn arrow keys will cy cle through the active inputs on your CAP-2100. If you have inputs y ou are not using, we suggest deactivating them in or der to provide faster , easier access to the inputs you ar e actually using.
22 The Menu System Y our CAP-2100 includes a versatile LCD touchscr een which supports both an attractive information display and a flexible menu system. While its use is quite intuitive,itisalsoquiteextensive.issectionoftheo wner’ smanualoutlines the many capabilities found in the menu system.
23 main menu system P ressing the front panel M enu buttontotheleftoftheLCDtouchscreenbrings up a comprehensive main menu system , the top two levels of which ar e shown above.
24 rotary e rotary knob on the front panel does not directly control the volume. Instead, it controls cir cuitr y that does so with greater fidelity and pr ecision than traditional volume potentiometers could ever achieve.
25 Ofcourse,itispossibletobumpintotheknobbyaccident,whichmight result in its spinning very quickly indeed. Rather than increasing the volume uncontrollably under these conditions, the CAP-2100 actually slows ev er ything down again as a safety measure against accidentally blo wing up your speakers.
26 • speed limit: establishes a maximum rotary speed, beyond which therewillbenochangeinvolumewhatsoever;theknob ’ sinput will be ignored completely until it slows do wn below the speed limit.
27 • e 4 button moves the cursor to the right, adding characters along the way . (Change each character to what you want as y ou go along, using the + and – buttons.) • e + and – buttons change the current character through the available characters.
28 phono gain e phono gain menu is only active if the optional phono module isinstalled; otherwise it is grayed out. When it is installed, the CAP-2100 will automatically recognize it, r ename the line 1 input to phono , and activate the input on the main menu.
29 teach IR e CAP-2100 provides discr ete infrared (IR) command codes for all its functions, a list that extends far beyond what is requir ed by normal remote controls. H owever , many of these functions are critical if you plan to cr eate a customized remote control with macr os that take command of your entire system.
30 brightness e brightness setting of the CAP-2100 has three possible values: low , medium, and high . Select the appropriate setting based on the lev el of ambient light typically found in your listening room while using the system.
31 In the r elativ e system, there is a calibrated, reference v olume referred to as 0dB. is reference v olume is the same level at which movies are play ed in theaters. Regar dless of how large or how small the theater , a setting of 0dB is always the same, known volume.
