66 View of the PRO TECT C. components 2.2 System Description The UPS is connected between the public utility's m ains and the loads to be pro tected. The power section of the rectif ier converts the mains voltage to DC voltage for supplying the inverter.

78 4 Set-Up and Ope ration 4.1 Unpacking and Inspection The device has been fully tested and inspected. Altho ugh the device has been packed and shipp ed with t he usu al de gree of care, dam age during trans port cannot be ru led out completely.

85 EN 5 Commissioning Attention Before any work is started, ensure t hat the ca bles are free of tension and no power can be s witched on. i To prevent a def ormation o f the bus-bar and t o keep the foot of th e terminal f ree of torsion, it is recomm ended to hold the cable when rem oving the term inal screw.

91 EN 6 Electrical St art-Up Verify that UPS voltage of your countr y corresponds to your equipment voltage. T he default setting is set to 2 30 V. Output voltage on t he UPS s ystem can be adjuste d with the software “CompuW atch” in steps of 220 Vac and 240 Vac.

In this case powe r is sup plied to the inve rter from th e cha rged batt ery withou t inte rru ption. The power supply to the loa ds is the r efo re also ensur ed in the even t of a mai ns fail ure.

114 11 Sto rage, Disma ntling and Di sposal 11.1 Storage Long storage tim es without charging or discharging the batter y at regular intervals ma y lead to perm anent damage of the battery. If the ba ttery is stored a t ro om temperature (20° C to 30° C) it will autom atically disc harge at a ra te of 3 - 6% per m onth due to internal r eactions.
