5 Daily Oper ation • Container s with flammable gases or liquids can leak at low temper atures. Ther e is a risk of an explosion! Do not store any container s with flamma- ble materials such as, spr ay cans, fire extinguisher r efill cartridges etc in the r efrigerator/fr eezer .
6 Remove tr ansport packaging The appliance and the interior fittings ar e protected for tr ansport. • Remove all adhesive tape and packing pieces fr om the interior of the appliance. Disposal of old Appliances For envir onmental reasons, r efrigeration appliances must be disposed of pr operly .
7 Starting up and temper atur e r egulation W ash the inside of the appliance with lukewarm water with a little bicar - bonate of soda added (5ml to 0,5 litr e of water). Do not use soap or deter- gent as the smell may linger . Dry the appliance thoroughly .
8 Interior Accessories Stor age Shelves The glass shelf above the fruit and vegetable compartment should always remain in position, to ensure fruit and vegetables stay fresh longer . The r emaining storage shelves can be adjusted to various heights: Pull the stor age shelf forward until it can be tipped up or down and r emo- ved.
9 Butter and cheese: these should be placed in special airtight container s or wr apped in aluminium foil or polythene bags to exclude as much air as pos- sible. Milk bottles: these should have a cap and should be stor ed in the bottle r ack on the door .
10 1. Place the packed food in the dr awers. Place food to be fr ozen in the upper dr awer . Unfr ozen food must not touch items already fr ozen, otherwise the fr ozen food could begin to defr ost. 2. Place fr ozen foods in the dr awers sorted by type, as far as possible.
11 4. T urn the thermostat knob to the r equired setting and r eplace the plug in the power socket. W arning! Never use metal tools to scr ape off the fr ost Do not use a mechanical device or any artificial means to speed up the thawing pr ocess other than those r ecommended by the manufactur er .
12 – cleanser s which contain acetic acid. Do not allow such substances to come into contact with appliance parts. • Many pr oprietary kitchen surface cleaners contain chemicals that can attack/damage the plastics used in this appliance.
13 Something Not W orking If the appliance is not functioning corr ectly , please carry out the following checks befor e contacting your local AEG Service For ce Centre. W arning! Repair s should only be carried out by qualified service engineer s. Repairs carried out by inexperienced per sons may cause injury or serious malfunc- tioning.
14 If, after carrying out the necessary checks ther e is still a fault with your appliance please contact your local AEG Service For ce Centre. In guar antee cu stomer s s hould ensur e that the suggested check s have been made as the engineer will make a char ge if the fault is not a mechanical or electrical br eakdown.

16 Guar antee Conditions Guar antee Condition s AEG offer the following guarantee to the fir st purchaser of this appliance. 1. The guarantee is valid for 12 months commencing when the appliance is handed over to the first r etail purchaser , which must be verified by pur chase invoice or similar documen- tation.
17 Installation Electrical Connection Any electrical work r equired to install this appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent per son. WARNING – THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED The manufactur er declines any liability s hould these safety measur es not be observed.
18 P ositioning This appliance should only be installed at a location wher e the ambient temper atur e corr esponds to the climate classification indicated on the r at- ing plate, which is located on the inside left of the appliance. The following table shows which ambient temper ature is corr ect for each climate classification.

Fasten the appliance with 4 scr ews pr ovided in the kit included with the appliance.
22 Open the appliance door and the fur- nitur e door at 90°. Insert the small squar e (B) into guide (A). Put togeth- er the appliance door and the furni- tur e door and mark the holes as indi- cated in the figure. Remove the squar es and drill holes with ø 2 mm at 8 mm fr om the outer edge of the door .
