General Product Information 5 Doc 01-G0674 Rev E OPERAT ION Prewired terminal strip accepts field connection of any access control device w ith normally open (N.O.) output contact (most access control e quipment) and when required, a separate OPEN/CLOSE pushbutton (s upplied).

Electrical shock and serious injury could result. 1 Remove the wood base from the unit and disca rd. 2 Locate the keys f or the access panel ( taped to the arm mount ing flange) and remove.

Be sure to locate electrical conduit inside the hatched 14" x 13" a rea. 2 Excavate required area for pad and conduit. Pad depth should be below the frost line, or as required by local codes.

The enclosure (shipped loose) may be re moved from the cabinet to help in the connec tions described below. W hen all co nnections are complete, hang the enclosure as described in step 7 .

Use Caution l ifting 57lb. weights. 2 Bend and fasten the tw o arms together as shown in Figure 10.

MODEL BG770 A D JUSTMENTS 1 If necessary, rotate the pulley on the motor by hand until the crank arm on the gear reducer is perfectly aligned with the turnbuckle shaft (see Figure 11).
Install atio n 17 Doc 01-G0674 Rev E MODEL BG790 A D JUSTMENTS 1 If necessary, rotate the pulley on the mo tor by hand until the upper and lower cranks are in a vertical position (see Figure 13). This is the low est point of tr avel and should be preset in this position at the factory.

Vehicle Detec tors Almost all types of vehicle detectors may be used in conjunction with both model BG770 and BG790. More than one detector may be connected to the gate, and may be mounted inside o f the cabinet.

M ore than one device may be connected in parallel. All devices connected acco rding to the instructions below will open the gate and reverse the gate if it is closing.
Operating Instructions 21 Doc 01-G0674 Rev E Operating Instructions Electrical Operation The BG770 and BG790 barrier gate operators are designed to provide years of trouble-free operation. The gate may be operat ed by means of the two button control station, or by other means i f provided.
Troubleshooting 22 Doc 01-G0674 Rev E T roubleshooting W hen troubleshoot ing, one of the first t hings to do is try to isolate the pro blem area. The four (4) main areas to check out are: Power Accessories Oper ator’s Primary Voltage Operator’s Low Voltage 1.
Troubleshooting 23 Doc 01-G0674 Rev E 2. A ccessories Add-on accessories can create many o f the problems that are credited to the operator. M any applications have more than one accessory item attached to the operator and some o f these items even draw their power from the operator.
Troubleshooting 24 Doc 01-G0674 Rev E 3C. If 3a and 3b check out O.K., then manually disconnect the operator from the gate. Very carefully , using a screwdriv er with an insulat ed handle, press down on the open side of the contactor. Then do the same to the close side o f the contactor.
