E-10 Digital Time and Date Use the T imekeeping Mode to set and view a digital display of the current time and date. When setting the digital time, you can also configure settings for summer time (Day.
E-11 T o set the digital time and date 1. In the T imekeeping Mode, hold down A until the seconds start to flash, which indicates the setting screen. 2. Press C twice to move the flashing to the Home City code setting (see the illustration below), and then use B and D to select the code you want.

E-14 T o toggle the Timekeeping Mode digital time between DST and Standard Time 1. In the T imekeeping Mode, hold down A until the seconds start to flash, which indicates the setting screen. 2. Press C once to display the DST setting screen. 3. Press D to toggle between Daylight Saving T ime ( displayed) and Standard T ime ( displayed).
E-15 Setting the Analog Time Perform the procedure below when the time indicated by the analog hands does not match the time of the digital display . T o adjust the analog time 1. In the Timekeeping Mode, press C five times to enter the Hand Setting Mode (page E-7).
E-16 • If you need to advance the analog time setting a long way , hold down D until the time starts advancing at high speed, and then press B . This locks the high- speed hand movement, so you can release the two buttons. High-speed hand movement continues until you press any button.
E-17 World T ime World T ime digitally displays the current time in 27 cities (29 time zones) around the world. • All of the operations in this section are performed in the World T ime Mode, which you enter by pressing C (page E-6). T o view the time in another city In the World T ime Mode, press D to scroll eastwardly through city codes.
E-18 T o toggle a city code time between Standard Time and Daylight Saving Time 1. In the World T ime Mode, use D to display the city code whose Standard T ime/Daylight Saving T ime setting you want to change.
E-19 Countdown Timer The countdown timer can be set within a range of one minute to 60 minutes. An alarm sounds when the countdown reaches zero. The countdown timer also has an auto-repeat feature and a progress beeper that signals the progress of the countdown.
E-20 Auto-repeat When auto-repeat is turned on, the countdown automatically restarts from the countdown start time when it reaches zero. If left running, the countdown is repeated a total of eight times, after which it stops automatically .
E-21 Countdown End Beeper The countdown end beeper lets you know when the countdown reaches zero. • When the progress beeper is turned off, the countdown end beeper sounds for about 10 seconds, or until you press any button to stop it. • When the progress beeper is turned on, the countdown end beeper sounds for about one second.
E-22 T o configure the countdown timer 1. While the countdown start time is on the display in the Countdown T imer Mode, hold down A until the current countdown start time starts to flash, which indicates the setting screen.
E-23 Setting Start Time Auto-repeat Progress Beeper Screen Button Operation Use D (+) and B (–) to change the setting. • Y ou can set a start time in the range of 1 to 60 minutes in 1-minute increments. Press D to toggle auto-repeat on ( displayed) and off ( displayed).
E-24 T o use the countdown timer Press D while in the Countdown T imer Mode to start the countdown timer . • The countdown timer operation continues even if you exit the Countdown T imer Mode. • Press D while a countdown operation is in progress to pause it.
E-25 Stopwatch The stopwatch lets you measure elapsed time, split times, and two finishes. • The display range of the stopwatch is 59 minutes, 59.99 seconds. • The stopwatch continues to run, restarting from zero after it reaches its limit, until you stop it.

E-27 Alarms Y ou can set five independent Daily Alarms. When an alarm is turned on, the alarm tone sounds when the alarm time is reached. One of the alarms is a snooze alarm, while the other four are one-time alarms. Y ou can turn on an Hourly T ime Signal that causes the watch to beep twice every hour on the hour .
E-28 T o set an alarm time 1. In the Alarm Mode, use D to scroll through the alarm screens until the one whose time you want to set is displayed. • T o set a one-time alarm, display one of the screens indicated by an alarm number from AL1 through AL4 .
E-29 4. While a setting is flashing, use D (+) and B (–) to change it. • When setting the alarm time using the 12-hour format, take care to set the time correctly as a.m. (no indicator) or p.m. ( P indicator). 5. Press A to exit the setting screen.
E-30 T o turn an alarm on and off 1. In the Alarm Mode, use D to select an alarm. 2. Press A to toggle it on ( displayed) and off ( displayed). • Turning on a one-time alarm ( AL1 through AL4 ) displays the alarm on indicator on its Alarm Mode screen.

E-32 Illumination An LED (light-emitting diode) illuminates the display for easy reading in the dark. Illumination Precautions • The illumination provided by the light may be hard to see when viewed under direct sunlight. • Illumination automatically turns off whenever an alarm sounds.
E-33 T o turn on illumination manually In any mode (except when a setting screen is on the display), press B to turn on illumination. • Y ou can use the procedure below to select either one second or three seconds as the illumination duration.

E-36 Scrolling The B and D buttons are used in various modes and setting screens to scroll through data on the display . In most cases, holding down these buttons during a scroll operation scrolls through the data at high speed.
E-37 • The year can be set in the range of 2000 to 2039. • The watch’s built-in full automatic calendar makes allowances for different month lengths and leap years. Once you set the date, there should be no reason to change it except after you have the watch’s batteries replaced.

E-40 Operating Precautions W ater Resistance • The following applies to watches with W ATER RESIST or WA TER RESIST ANT marked on the back cover . Marking Example of Daily Use 10 Atmospheres 10BAR Y.
E-41 • Watches that do not have W A TER RESIST or W A TER RESIST ANT marked on the back cover are not protected against the effects of sweat. Avoid using such a watch under conditions where it will be exposed to large amounts of sweat or moisture, or to direct splashing with water .
E-42 • The inside surface of the watch glass may fog when the watch is exposed to a sudden drop in temperature. No problem is indicated if the fogging clears up relatively quickly . If the fogging does not clear or if water has gotten into the watch, take the watch in for repair immediately .
E-43 T emperature • Never leave the watch on the dashboard of a car , near a heater, or in any other location that is subject to very high temperatures. Do not leave the watch where it will be exposed to very low temperatures, either . T emperature extremes can cause the watch to lose or gain time, to stop, or otherwise malfunction.
E-44 Magnetism • The hands of analog and combination (analog-digital) watches are moved by a motor that uses magnetic force. When such a watch is close to a device (audio speakers, magnetic necklace, cell phone, etc.
E-45 Storage • If you do not plan to use the watch for a long time, wipe it thoroughly free of all dirt, sweat, and moisture, and store it in a cool, dry place.
E-46 • Semi-transparent resin parts can become discolored due to sweat and dirt, and if exposed to high temperatures for long periods. • Contact an authorized CASIO Service Center to have resin components replaced. Note that you will be charged for replacement costs.
E-47 Metal Components • Failure to clean dirt from a metal band can lead to formation of rust, even if the band is stainless steel or plated. If the watch is exposed to sweat or water , wipe it thoroughly with a soft, absorbent cloth and then store it in a well-ventilated location to dry .
E-48 Display • Display figures may be difficult to read when viewed from an angle. Note that CASIO COMPUTER CO., L TD. assumes no responsibility for any damage or loss suffered by you or any third party arising through the use of this product or its malfunction.
E-49 User Maintenance Caring for Y our Watch • A dirty or rusty case or band can soil the sleeve of your clothing, cause skin irritation, and even interfere with watch performance. Be sure to keep the case and band clean at all times. Rust tends to form easily after the watch is exposed to seawater and then left without cleaning.
E-50 Dangers of Poor Watch Care Rust • Though the stainless steel used for the watch is highly rust-resistant, rust can form if the watch is not cleaned after it becomes dirty .
