8 9 Getting st arted 2. Remove the bat tery compartment c over and insert the 2 x AAA NiMH batt eries supplied into the handset, ensuring the + and -ends of the batt ery match up with the markings inside the bat tery compartment. Slide the battery c over c ompartment into plac e.

24 25 Using the phone If you have subscribed to T elstra’s Calling Number Display servic e, your caller ’s number will also be shown. If the number is private (eg b locked calls) the display will show Withheld . If an exact number mat ch is found in the Phonebook, the name will be displayed instead of the number .
26 27 Using the phone Redial Y our T elstra 7300/7300a stor es the details of the last 10 c alls made into a r edial list. Stor ed redial numbers c an be up to 20 digits long. If a redial number is st ored in the Phonebook, the caller ’s name will be displayed instead of the number .

If you accident ally delete the Send or Rec eive SMS Service C entre numbers you will ne ed to r e-enter them in order f or your SMS Service to w ork .
42 43 Handset settings Handset tones on/off Y our T elstra 7300/7300a has a series of tones designed t o alert you to c ertain situations. A tone will sound: when the battery is low; when you move out of r ange of the base and there is no co verage; to confi rm each but ton pr ess (key beeps).

48 49 Calling Number Display If you subscribe to T elstra’ s Calling Number Display service, you can see your c aller ’s number on your handset display prior to answ ering the call. If the caller’s name and number are st ored in the Phonebook and a name/number matc h is found, you will see the c aller ’s name on the display inst ead.

60 61 Answer delay Answer delay sets the number of rings befor e your T elstra 7300a answering mac hine picks up a call. The default setting is 6 rings. Y ou can select an answer delay of 2, 4, 6, 8 rings or Time Saver . Time Saver c an save you the cost of a c all when you want to ring in t o find out if you have new messages.
62 63 Memory full If a caller is leaving a mes sage when the memory becomes full your machine will announce, “ Memory ful l thank you for cal ling ” and hang up. The machine will also automatic ally set to Answer O nly, the base indicat or will flash F and the handset display will show Ans.
64 65 Switc h answering machine on r emotely If you for get to switc h on your answering machine, you can do it from another phone. 1. Dial your phone number and let it ring. After 15 rings, your answering machine will switch on. 2. Y ou will hear , “ Please enter your sec urity c ode.
66 67 Handset is not char ging properly • Make sure the handset is plac ed properly on the base/char ger . When charging, the battery symbol is shown filling up. • Clean the char ging contacts with a soft, slightly damp (not wet) cloth. Handset does not ring • Check that the bat teries are insert ed corr ectly.
68 69 Cannot r eceive t ext • Y ou will not be able t o rec eive text messages until you hav e f irst sent a message. The first message sent regist ers you with the text servic e.
70 71 General inf ormation Environment al • Do not expose t o direct sunlight. • The T elstra 7300/7300a handset may become warm when the bat teries are being r echar ged. This is normal. W e recommend that you do not place the pr oduct on antique/veneer ed wood t o avoid damage.
