12 English Concerning the CD number s and play status display The displ ay shows for each CD tray whet her or not a C D has been inserted as well as t he play status of the CD. The CDR se ction can be used to play back CDs, CD -R, and CD- RW . 1 Press th e EJECT 0 button to open the CDR disc tray .

14 English T o skip forward or backward to different tracks on the currently selected CD, use the MUL TI J OG dia l on the unit or the 4 or ¢ bu ttons on the rem ote control. • When the l ast track o n a CD loaded in the 3 -CD changer is advanced to the next track, pl ayback moves to th e first track on the next CD.

18 English Recor ding onto CD-R and CD-R W Notes on Reco rding • Do not use CD-R or CD-R W with dust an d/or small scratches on the surface as thi s may cause the reco rded sound to jum p and may e v en cause this unit to malfu nctio n.

22 English When the fir st trac k has been sto red in memory Note • When there is no t m uch recordi ng time left on th e CD-R or CD- R W , tracks that are longer than the rema ining time (pre-calcu- late d) can be progra mmed but “ NO REM” ap pears in the dis- play .
23 5 Select and enter the program source. • The source can be selecte d in either direc tion using th e MUL TI J O G dial on the mai n unit or the 4 and ¢ b uttons on the remote control. • When th e SET button i s pressed, the prog rammin g and trac k number fl ash.

27 Special Recor ding Edit Operations Occasionally , there may be tra cks on a disc that are partial, repeated, or are otherwise unwanted . Before a CD-R or CD-R W is fi nalized, it is po ssible to put a skip marke r for that track , which is then recorded in the TOC information at must 21 tracks p er disk.
28 English 4 Press the S ET button. • “ERASE (start t rack) – (last track)” appe ars in the display . (Ini- tially , the start track and the last track are both th e last track number recorded on the CD-R W .) • Press the CANCEL b utton i f you do not wish to perform this procedu re.
29 Finalization marks the final process in recording on a CD-R or CD- R W in which the T OC (T able Of Contents) is written to the disc. When this procedure is completed, it will be possible to play CD- R/CD-R W on CD players compatible with CD-R/CD-R W .
30 English Once a CD-R has b een finalized, further recording on that d isc can- not be performed. Howe ver , by erasing the TOC (T able of Co n- tents) on a CD-R W , the dis c can be recorded on again. 1 Load a CD-R W into the CDR deck. • The CD-R W and FIN ALIZED indicators light for a CD-R W that has been f inal ized.
