6 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Cutting equipment Saw b lades are intended for cutting fibrous types of wood. Grass b lades and grass cutters are intended f or cutting coarse grass . A trimmer head is intended for trimming grass . Locking n ut A locking n ut is used to secure some types of cutting attachment.
English – 7 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS • See instructions under the heading Star t. Star t the machine and apply full throttle. Release the throttle and check that the cutting attachment stops and remains at a standstill. If the cutting attachment rotates with the throttle in the idle position then the carburettor idle setting m ust be check ed.

An incorrectly shar pened or damaged b lade increases the risk of accidents. 3 Maintain the correct blade setting! F ollow our instructions and use the recommended blade setting tool.
English – 9 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS • Make sure that the b lade is well suppor ted when you file it. Use a 5.5 mm round file with a file holder . • The filing angle is 15 ° . File alter nate teeth to the right and those in between to the left.
10 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS General safety precautions Starting • The complete clutch cov er and shaft must be fitted before the machine is star ted, otherwise the clutch can come loose and cause personal injur y . • Ne ver start the machine indoors.

General w orking instructions Basic safety rules 1 Look around you: - T o ensure that people, animals or other things cannot aff ect your control of the machine .
12 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Correct balance Let the cutting attachment rest lightly on the ground. If you use a saw b lade it should balance about 10 cm above the ground to pre vent contact with stones and the like . Adjust the position of the suppor t hook to balance the clearing saw correctly .
English – 13 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Grass clearing using a grass b lade • Grass b lades and grass cutters m ust not be used on woody stems. • A grass b lade is used for all types of tall or coarse grass .
14 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Cutting • The trimmer is ideal for cutting gr ass that is difficult to reach using a normal lawn mower . K eep the cord parallel to the ground when cutting. A void pressing the trimmer head against the ground as this can ruin the lawn and damage the tool.

16 – English ASSEMBL Y Fitting the handlebar • Remov e the screw at the rear of the throttle handle. • Slide the throttle handle onto the right side of the handlebar , (see diagram). • Align the screw hole in the throttle handle with the hole in the handlebar .
English – 17 ASSEMBL Y Fitting a blade guar d, grass blade and grass cutter • Hook the blade guard/combination guard (A) onto the fitting on the shaft and secure with the bolt. CA UTION! Use the recommended blade guard. See the T echnical data section.
18 – English ASSEMBL Y arrow in the diagr am shows the area where y ou should operate the soc ket spanner when loosening or tightening the nut. Fitting a trimmer guar d and Superauto II 1" trimmer head • Fit the correct trimmer guard (A) for use with the trimmer head.
English – 19 ASSEMBL Y Adjusting the harness and c learing saw Standar d harness Quick release At the front is an easily accessible , quick release . Use this if the engine catches fire or in any other emergency situation that requires you to free y ourself from the machine and harness.
20 – English FUEL HANDLING Fuel CA UTION! The machine is equipped with a f our-stroke engine. Make sure that there is alwa ys sufficient oil in the oil tank. Gasoline • Use high-grade unleaded petrol of at least 86 octane . • If the machine is not used f or some time the fuel tank should be emptied and cleaned.

22 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING W arm engine Ignition: Set the stop s witch to the star t position. Choke: Put the choke in w orking position. Primer bulb: Press the primer bulb repeatedly until fuel begins to fill the bulb . The bulb need not be completely filled.
English – 23 MAINTENANCE Carb urettor Function • The carburettor go v erns the engine’s speed via the throttle control. Air and fuel are mixed in the carb urettor. The air/fuel mixture is adjustable . Correct adjustment is essential to get the best perf ormance from the machine.
24 – English MAINTENANCE If the machine is low on po wer , difficult to star t or runs poor ly at idle speed: alwa ys check the spark plug first bef ore taking any further action. If the spark plug is dir ty , clean it and check that the electrode gap is 0,6-0,7 mm.
