Place discharge chute assembly on top of chute base with discharge opening tow ard front of snow throw er .

10 OPERA TION T O CONTROL SNO W DISCHARGE (See Fig. 15) W ARNING: Snow thr ower s have ex- posed rotating parts, which can cause severe injury from contact, or from ma- terial thro wn from the disc harge chute. Keep the area of operation c lear of all persons, small children and pets at all times including startup.
11 T O MO VE FOR W ARD AND BA CKW ARD (See Fig. 18) SELF-PROPELLING, f orward and re verse mo vement of the snow thro wer , is controlled by the traction drive control le ver located on the left side handle . • Squeeze traction drive control le ver to handle to en gage the drive system.
12 T O ADJUST SKID PLA TES (See Fig. 20) NO TE: The wrench provided in your parts bag may be used to adjust the skid plates. Skid plates are located on each side of the auger housing and adjust the clearance between the scr aper bar and the ground surf ace.
13 T O ST ART ENGINE • Be sure fuel shut-off v alve is in the OPEN position. Y our snow thro wer engine is equipped with both a 120 V olt A.C . electr ic star ter and a recoil star ter . The electr ic star ter is equipped with a three-wire power cord and plug and is designed to operate on 120 V olt A.
14 MAINTENANCE LUBRICA TION CHART GENERAL REC OM MEN DA TIONS The warranty on this sno w throw er does not cov er items that hav e been sub ject ed to operator abuse or negligence. T o receive full v alue from the warranty , operator must maintain snow thro wer as in str uct ed in this manual.
15 MAINTENANCE SNO W THRO WER Alwa ys obser ve saf ety rules when performing main te nance. TIRES • Maintain proper air pressure in both tires (See “PROD- UCT SPECIFICA TIONS” section in this manual). • K eep tires free of gasoline / oil, which can har m rubber .
16 SER VICE AND ADJUSTMENTS W ARNING: T o av oid serious injur y , before perf orming any service or ad- just ments: 1. Be sure throttle is in ST OP position. 2. Remove safety ignition ke y . 3. Make sure the augers and all mov ing parts have completely stopped.
17 SER VICE AND ADJUSTMENTS T O REPLA CE BEL TS (See Fig. 25) The auger and traction drive belts are not adjustab le. If the belts are damaged or begin to slip from wear , they should be replaced. It is recommended that the belt(s) be replaced by a qualifi ed service center .
